New blocks

I have been having a great deal of trouble posting the last 3 months.  This is all I could recover.  These blocks I've admired but they don't really fit in any of the quilts I've made so far.  So I'm glad I have a couple of outlets to contribute blocks to make a quilt of valor with other volunteers.  Love this work however we can make a quilt to comfort those who sacrifice for us.

A couple of thank yous

This first quilt is a thank you to my doctor for taking good care of me.  I used a chart to figure out how to cut the setting triangles on the outside border & they are huge.  So after I figure out how to sew that border completely it will be ready for the frame.  I fell in love with this quilt when I saw it on Wanda's Exuberant Color blog a couple years ago.  I cut 2 of each block on the Accuquilt with the Blazing star die.  I will make a 2nd quilt for me.

The second top is for another QOV to thank a veteran for their service.  It needs 1 more border to be big enough.  It's a quick & easy quilt but I had to change my original border when I cut wrong & didn't have enough fabric left.

Finally Finished!

This quilt was a challenge to finish.  So many set backs.  So glad it's done & ready to be presented to a veteran.

Exploding Star as a QOV

This isn't big enough for a Quilt Of Valor & I have to add borders.  How I wish it was big enough because it's such a dramatic pattern as is.  Click pic for a better view

Chris' baby quilt

i lost most of 10 months of longarming in 2015.  The first 5 due to stupid human error that broke down my longarm & not being able to get it fixed until May.  Then in July got some scary diagnosis & spent all my non work time running around getting tests.  Turned out manageable thank God.  Anyway while I began the year excited about how my free motion practice was going, after all those months I'm almost starting over.

This is a baby quilt for a friend at work.  I'm posting this really humble quilting so  I can see later the improvement whenever it comes.
